Gala Information
Swimmers aged 9 and above can enter official licensed galas that are are held throughout the season on-island at the NSC. All swims are 50m plus and are generally licenced events (level 3) which can be used for consideration into UK events, such as the Lancashire County Championships.
There will also be 2 friendly Splash Galas annually, again at the NSC for those aged 12 or under. These will be held over the season, and any swimmer who is not a member of Isle of Man Swim Squad can enter. These are ideal opportunities for younger swimmers to get Gala experience.
Ramseian Club generally hold two Galas annually at Ramsey - usually in March and July. These are a great opportunity for any of our swimmers to gain gala experience in a friendly atmosphere. These galas are free to enter and we encourage all of our swimmers to enter!!
Check-in Be aware of the Check-in times for all sessions. Swimmers should arrive at the gala venue, look for a team representative and sign in at their respective team desk. Check-in normally opens 30 minutes before Warm-Up and will be in the NSC reception area
Warm-Up Be aware of warm up times. Warm-up occurs after Check-in closes and before racing. Swimmers should sit poolside with their teams and await the warm-up order. Generally the first group to warm up will be the same sex as the first race. Bring a small bag poolside with drinks, snacks, towel, t-shirt.
Racing Listen carefully to your coaches and poolside helpers. This will ensure you are in the correct order for your race. Have fun and enjoy the experience.
